My name is Sanjay. I am 32 years old and I live in Shiv Vihar slum. When I was 3
years old, I got affected from polio due to which I lost my ability to walk. My one
leg is completely paralyzed. At the age of 5, I took admission in a school but
children teased me and I felt hopeless and stopped going to school forever. With
passing time, I learnt electronics course. I also learnt singing. One day I met a
social worker of ASRA who motivated and guided me. With his help I could avail
the government services like Disability Certificate, Bus Pass, Rail Pass and
Disability Pension. ASRA motivated me to work as a volunteer I happily agreed
and became a part of survey team. Due to hard work, I was promoted as a Rehab
worker. Now I am a happily married self reliant family man blessed with children.
My children go to school. I am proud to be apart of ASRA which is a source of
earning and livelihood. Thanks to ASRA. Thanks to AFS.
